| Raju Datla Aug, 5 2014 | Very very good school. School was a major concern for me because my kids used to go to one of the better schools in SF Bay area (Stratford) and I was worried about the gap in standards and methodology. Manthan turned out to be a very good school. Emphasis is on learning (as opposed to memorizing). Kids are given assignments that encourage them to research on their own and figure things out. Enough extra/co-corricular activities like music, dance, frequent field trips, etc provide intellectual stimulus. The teachers are excellent (and that's not a hyperbole). I've gotten quality feedback in parent-teacher meetings about both strengths and weaknesses of my kids (and remedial actions I need to take from my side). There is occasional disruption (second language teacher left half way though the academic year and there was a bit of confusion during the transition, for example). But on a whole, I'm very happy with the school and the way my kids are shaping up. They love the school and they are learning well. ***They don't have a big campus, and playground is fairly small. A larger campus was to come up in Tellapur, but it keeps getting delayed. Small playground was my pet peeve but I've come to appreciate the fact that kids do get enough physical activity at school due to well organized PT sessions. I'd still prefer a larger playground with better facilities though!*** Edit: They opened a new campus in Tellapur in a 4+ acre plot. So my concerns have been addressed. Finally, Manthan has a very good management team. Principal and academic coordinator are committed to excellence (that alone separates good schools from run of the mill), honest and straight forward in their approach. They have the right DNA to run an academic institution. All in all, I'm happy with Manthan. | |||
